We are getting married on Saturday 16th January 2016.
Both Emma and I are committed Christians, so expect an unrepentantly Christian wedding! After the ceremony, there will be a cupcake reception at the church before heading over to the hotel for the rest of the day’s festivities.
The Ceremony.
We will have a Christian ceremony at the church Emma and her parents attend, Queen’s Park Baptist church in Glasgow.
Queen’s Park Baptist church has a number of buildings. Our ceremony will be in the Camphill Building, 20 Balvicar Drive, Glasgow, G42 8QS, there is a fair bit of street parking, and there are a very limited number of disabled spaces available at the front entrance – please let us know if you require a disabled space.
The ceremony will begin at 12:30.
After the ceremony, the church hall will be used for the cupcake reception and photos.
All are welcome at the wedding ceremony itself and we will lay on a cupcake reception for anticipated numbers.
The Wedding Breakfast
After the cupcake reception, guests are invited to decamp to Crutherland House hotel in East Kilbride for more photos, a little relaxation time and then a lovely meal. If there are foods you are incompatible with, then please let us know in good time.
The Ceilidh
From 19:30, we will have a traditional Scottish ceilidh.
I am told the Scots learn this stuff at school and can be quite lethal, but please don’t be put off – we’ve chosen a wonderful band and all of the dances will be called, so you’ll always know what to do next.
Transport on the day
A coach will depart from the Crutherland to take guests to Queeen’s Park Baptist church ahead of the ceremony. Guests staying in other hotels are welcome to make use of this bus, but will need to make their own way to the Crutherland in good time.
The same coach will be available after the cupcake reception to return guests to the Crutherland.
A bus schedule will be published before the day and will also be available to view in the Crutherland foyer.
